In our ongoing efforts towards regulating cannabis in Unincorporated Los Angeles we along with   Drug Policy Alliance and California Cannabis Industry Association, took over 20 county staffers from 12 different departments on tours of licensed facilities.

Recently the Board of Supervisors voted to begin the process of regulations.  We worked long and hard to get to this point and while we are happy to see the process beginning, we are also greatly concerned at some incredible flaws in their motion.

Namely the ban on using all agricultural zoned land and absolutely no outdoor cultivation.

We recognize that further education is needed so on the first of several planned tours we took county officials to visit Canndescent an indoor cultivation facility, and Palm Springs Safe Access a dispensary.

The goal was to provide first hand experience for them, showing them best practices and how safe and secure, regulated fascilites can be.

We were happy to see how open and willing the county was in learning and understanding the cannabis industry.

We look forward to our continued work with the county towards forming proper regulations.
