That State of Cannabis with Congressman Dana Rohrabacher
The State of Cannabis' organizer Susan Sores, showed great support for Cannabis advocacy in donating Angeles Emeralds a table at the Long Beach event. We are very grateful for the opportunity to educate so many people on the current state of regulations in LA County.
Amongst them was Congressman Dana Rohrabacher whom we got to speak with and learn more about the challenges he faces in protecting the industry against federal enforcement. We are grateful for his support and strong beliefs in states' rights, introducing an amendment into legislation which prohibits the Federal Justice Department from spending funds to interfere with the implementation of state medical cannabis laws
Takes a lot of spokes in this wheel to make the industry move forward.
Here's one of the info panels we shared at the event.
Over 200,000 residents qualify for expunging previous cannabis convictions in LA County.
There is a discrepancy between the existing retail market of 77 medical dispensaries and the proposed cap of 20 retail licenses.
Topanga Canyon residents voted 76% in favor of commercial cannabis. LA County is proposing no zoning in their town to allow for licensed operators.
We are so very proud to support LA County Supervisors in unanimously voting to direct the county towards making it easier to expunge previous cannabis convictions of hundreds of thousands of LA County Residents.
